Well, another first, and again, I didn't have a camera.

I went for a walk at the arboretum this evening after work. I didn't expect to see any deer: it was a nice, bright day and I tend to find them on stormy days. The end of my walk took me by the nature center and the small pond behind it.

There was some sort of brown animal in the pond, chewing on the cat-tails. I took a closer look. It was a deer, belly deep in the pond, trying to get at the roots of the cat-tails. She looked at me, I looked at her. She slowly took a few steps into the cat-tails and disappeared.

Dang. I have to start carrying my camera again!
